The Arquitens-class featured a light complement of weapons in comparison to its Separatist counterparts like the Recusant -class and Munificient-class starships. Due to the ship's relatively light weapons profile these cruisers were generally deployed in groups, often as support for Venator Star destroyers. This light cruiser primarily served as an escort ship defending more vulnerable starships from enemy attack. The Arquitens-class resembled the large Venator-class Star Destroyer with its triangular shaped hull design with three cylindrical engines in the back with a T-shaped control tower. The Arquitens-class light cruiser, more commonly referred to as the Republic Light Cruiser or the Jedi light cruiser, was a small ship used by the Galactic Republic's Navy during the Clone Wars.
